 This scheme has no prescribed training programme/ curriculum. Each selected student has to carry out the project individually under the guidance of a Scientist/ Engineer of RRCAT, on all working days.
Eligibility and Minimum Project Duration:
M.Sc. students of final year are eligible to apply for a minimum period of six weeks. M.Phil students of final year are eligible to apply for a minimum period of six months. M.E. and M. Tech. students of final year are eligible to apply for a minimum period of six months. B.E. and B. Tech. students who have completed their fifth semester are eligible to apply for a minimum period of six weeks. Application Procedure: Interested student has to send his/ her application in the prescribed form, as per the instructions given. Applications complete with ALL the required documents will only be considered. Application for the project work must be accompanied with the Certificate of Bonafide Student issued only by Principal/Head of the Institute. Applications without this form will NOT be considered. Applications sent through e-mail will not be accepted.
Selection criteria are the academic profile of the student and availability of suitable project guide in the area of interest of the student. Number of students selected may vary from year to year. Period for the winter and summer projects will be from 10th December to 9th June and 10th June to 9th December respectively in the calendar year. Last dates for receiving applications for winter and summer projects are 1st October and 1st April respectively in every calendar year.

Italy PhD Position for International students


Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Padova e Rovigo, offers research fellowships for international students to attend Doctoral Schools/International Courses at the University of Padova. During the 3-year doctoral programme, successful candidates will be offered full board and lodging.
Announcement of 15 PhD grants reserved to foreign students for the admission to the Doctoral Schools and to International Doctoral Courses (28th series) a.y. 2012/13 starting on 1 st January 2013 and ending on 31 st December 2015.
Eligibility:Applicants are required to meet the following criteria in order to be eligible:
1.     To have foreign (non-Italian) citizenship
2.     To have foreign (non-Italian) residence. Candidates must be in possession of this requirement within the deadline date
3.     To have a foreign (non-Italian) academic qualification acknowledged as equivalent to the Diploma di Laurea/ Laurea Specialistica/Magistrale (at least four years of full time university education). The acknowledgement of the equivalence of the academic degree will be done by the relevant body of the Doctoral School/International Course, for the sole purpose of this competition.

The Conference of Education and Research Institutions in Economics and Management in Africa (CIEREA) is pleased to announce, as part of the academic year 2012-2013, its scholarship program for PhD in Applied Economics in the context of the Interuniversity  Postgraduate Program in Economics (PTCI).
Designed for the formation of high-level economics, performance, competitive and operational, PTCI has the support of several partners technical and financial. Lessons for obtaining the PhD in economics are organized on a single campus where students take a first step, the common core courses. After this core curriculum, students take specialized courses that can place on another campus. The campus of specialization may be the same as the Campus Courts at Common Options (OSCC) receiving Master students. The training duration is three years, including three semesters. Before being admitted to a thesis, candidates must first have successfully passed the comprehensive examinations held in the core courses (Microeconometrics, macroeconometrics, econometrics) and one or two option courses. The postdoctoral researcher will participate in an extramurally-supported project to advance RNA engineering in mammalian cells, as well as other ongoing projects in the laboratory. The successful candidate should have a strong experimental background in one or more of the following fields: chemical biology (especially nucleic acid chemistry), biochemistry, molecular biology, microbiology, cell biology.

Organic Chemistry PhD Position avaliable at University of Liverpool only for EU/UK students


A 3.5-year funded Ph.D. position is available in the group directed by Dr Aïssa at the University of Liverpool (England). The position is available from October 2012. The position will be advertised until filled. Funding is secured on a teaching assistant contract (up to 6h/week) and covers both tuition fees and a maintenance grant (approx £13,000 a year). Only EU/UK citizens with a master degree in chemistry are eligible. Doctoral Studentship in Data Capture and Visualisation at Department of Civil, Environmental & Geomatic Engineering, University College London This studentship is only for European/UK Students.The research will focus on designing and implementing a mapping application that answers the needs and wishes of participants in citizen science projects, with a focus on both non-literate and literate participants - for example, the project will include working with non-literate forest communities in Cameroon as well as marginalised communities in London. From a technical perspective, the research will involve considering the most suitable hardware and software platform, designing and implementing the application, and deploying it in the field.
