Uppsala, SWEDEN: PhD student position in physical chemistry with focus on molecular nano solar cells

Uppsala, SWEDEN: PhD student position in physical chemistry with focus on molecular nano solar cells
In this PhD project new types of solar cells for conversion from light to electricity will be investigated, and specifically study solar cells based on combinations of nanoparticles and dye molecules. The project includes construction and assembly of the new solar cells and measurements of the power conversion efficiency. Also more advanced photo electric and electrochemical measurements with e.g. laser based spectroscopies will also be important for the understanding of the function of the solar cell. The research will be performed in collaboration with several researchers and research groups. Specifically, the collaboration with material chemists will be important for the design of new materials to the solar cell, and the collaboration with physicists will be important for advanced measurements methods. The project is positioned at the division of physical chemistry at the department of physical and analytical chemistry at the Ångström laboratory.
