Postdoctoral Teaching position in Chemistry at Auburn University

Highlights:
1.      The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at Auburn University invites applications for 9-month Non-Tenure- Track Postdoctoral Teaching Fellowships to begin August 2, 2010.
2.      The Postdoctoral position is subject to renewal based on satisfactory performance and funding, for up to four years maximum. Successful candidates will assist in the instruction of CHEM 1117 (Honors General Chemistry I) and its associated laboratories in the Fall semester and CHEM 1127 (Honors General Chemistry II) and its associated laboratories in the spring semester.
3.      The fellowships are open to individuals who will have completed all requirements for their Ph.D. degree no later than August 15, 2010.
4.      The candidate must demonstrate experience and proficiency in undergraduate teaching, effective writing and interpersonal communication skills, and possess appropriate experience that will contribute to general studies content of the honors chemistry courses. Applications from candidates with strong background and record of achievement in teaching chemistry are particularly welcome.
5.      Teaching duties will include development and incorporation of new laboratory modules, leading laboratory discussion sections, and the supervision of graduate teaching assistants both Fall and Spring semesters. Fellows may also have the opportunity to design an independent Honors laboratory manual.
6.      Review of applications will begin July 12, 2010. Annual salary range is $40,000-$50,000.
