Postdoctoral position in Computational Biology and Chemogenomics

Highlights:
  1. This position is in the new Computational Biology team within the section of Cancer Therapeutics.
  2. The team’s goal is to develop and apply novel computational biology and chemogenomic resources to support drug discovery within the centre.
  3. The section of Cancer Therapeutics boasts a very large collection of pharmacological and cancer disease relevant data as well as access to novel, large scale, internal and external chemogenomic data resources. These combined, datasets have the potential to deliver valuable knowledge to guide cancer drug discovery.
  4. The successful candidate will apply their programming skills to collate and handle large, frequently updated, heterogeneous datasets relating to cancer drug discovery and will analyse and model these data, and integrate them into a structured drug discovery database.
  5. The candidate will develop experience in a drug discovery environment, exposure to the drug discovery process, and knowledge in the emerging chemogenomics field (the merger of biological and chemical knowledge at large scale). In addition, the candidate will bolster their programming and data mining skills.
