Postdoctoral position in Chemical Sciences Division (USA)

Highlight:
  1. This position entails the exploration of principles of molecular recognition to achieve unprecedented selectivity for potential applications involving separation of ions from concentrated electrolyte mixtures.
  2. The postgraduate researcher will perform experimental studies aimed at understanding the binding and partitioning phenomena underlying selective extractions by novel ion receptors and ion-exchange materials. Efforts will be aimed at both basic understanding as well as development of working systems for real applications.
  3. Methods will primarily involve distribution measurements, spectroscopic characterization (NMR, UV-vis, FTIR, ESMS), and other techniques as needed. Light organic synthesis may also be required.
