Scholarship Program 2010/2011 by Bosowa Foundation Indonesia

Highlights:
1.      Bosowa Foundation offers scholarships to sons / daughters of South Sulawesi region of achievement, admirable personality and high spirited leadership, to continue her education at the S1 level of the best universities in Indonesia, such as the University of Indonesia, Gadjah Mada University, Institut Teknologi Bandung, Institut Pertanian Bogor and the Surabaya Institute of Technology.
2.      These scholarships through Bosowa Achievement Scholarship program, which is routinely carried out Bosowa Foundation since 2005.
3.      These scholarships as Bosowa Foundation's commitment to improve the quality of education, especially in South Sulawesi

Postdoctoral position in Molecular Sciences

Highlights:
  1. A post-doctoral position is available immediately in the Laboratory of Dr. Gomes-Solecki, Department of Molecular Sciences, University of Tennessee Health Sciences Center, Memphis, USA (http://www.uthsc.edu/molecular_sciences/directories/faculty/m_gomes.php).
  2. Work in our laboratory focuses on developing oral vaccine delivery vehicles using commensal bacteria (Lactobacillus spp.) capable of inducing protective immune responses against microbial pathogens or allergens.
  3. A major goal is to dissect the immunological mechanisms by which an effective oral vaccine breaks the oral tolerance of the gut.  One pertinent project relates to the development of an oral vaccine against peanut allergies.
  4. Another relates to the development of oral vaccines against spirochetal diseases, such as Lyme disease and Leptospirosis. Other projects relate to understanding the pathogenesis of Burkholderia pseudomallei and other select agents of biodefense interest. Expertise in molecular biology (real time PCR, cloning, etc), biochemistry (chromatography) and tissue culture techniques is required. Expertise in immunology is desirable. A PhD in Biology, Biochemistry or related field, MD (Medical Doctor) or DVM (Veterinary Doctor) is required.
