  1. Graphene Research Institute at Sejong University (Seoul, Korea) is seeking research professors and research fellows (postdoctoral positions) in the following fields :
    - Synthesis and application of low dimensional carbons (CNT, graphene, and their metal or polymer composite materials)
    - Fabrication and characterization of nano devices
    - Development of ultrafast devices
    - Mesoscopic physics experiments
  2. Graphene Research Institute has been established to develop graphene-based devices especially for high frequency applications, and has recently awarded a long term grant from the National Research Foundation of Korea (http://youngsil.sejong.ac.kr/graphene).
  3. The initial appointment will be one or two years and can be extended depending on the performance and the funding. The job is supposed to begin on September 1, 2010, but the starting date can be arranged. The annual salary ranges from 30 million KRW to 36 million KRW, depending on experience and qualification.

Postdoctoral position in Microbiology at University of Alabama at Birmingham

Postdoctoral position in Inorganic/or organometallic chemistry

Highlights:
  1. Applications are invited for a Postdoctoral Research Assistant to work at the University of Michigan - Ann Arbor, under the supervision of Dr. Nathaniel Szymczak for an initial period of 12 months with the possibility of renewal.
  2. The project involves the development of new inorganic/organometallic homogeneous catalysts that facilitate transformations relevant to energy recycling and delivery key targets are hydrogen storage and delivery.
  3. The successful candidate will have a Ph.D. in inorganic or organometallic chemistry, expertise in air-free synthetic methodologies (glove-box and Schlenk line), as well as proficiency in appropriate physical techniques for characterization.
  4. Familiarity and with the following techniques are highly desirable: 1D and 2D homo- and hetero-nuclear NMR spectroscopy, electrochemistry (voltammetry, coulometry), in situ UV-Vis and/or IR spectroscopy, EPR spectroscopy, and a general knowledge of low and high-pressure gas manipulation for reaction chemistry.

  2. The projects involve interactions of host mucosal immune system and microbiota, specifically on microbiota, dendritic cells and microbiota antigen specific T cells and their role in pathogenesis of inflammatory bowel diseases using molecular and cellular immunological techniques.
