Postdoctoral Position in Microbiology

Highlights:
1. Interactions between malaria and other infections within a single host It is well known that infectious diseases remain a major health problem worldwide, especially in low-income countries, e.g. in Sub-Saharan Africa.

2. However, in these areas, simultaneous co-infections with two or more pathogens are the rule, rather than the exception.

3. This raises a fundamental question: what are the influences that these pathogens/ infections exert on each other? We propose to focus future research on a detailed understanding of the mechanisms behind the pathogenicity during co-infections.
