Postdoc in Protein Crystallographer

Highlights:
1. We seek an experienced crystallographer with post-doctoral experience to participate in a number of our diverse structural biology activities.
2. These activities include:
a. structure-based drug design efforts;
b. structural analysis of protein therapeutic candidates;
c. crystal structure analysis of proteins playing key roles in human disease.
3. Candidates should have a wide range of active skills: protein crystallization and optimization, structure determination by molecular replacement, MIR and/or MAD methods, experience with a variety of computational programs, experience with home and synchrotron data collection, and ability to interpret and communicate structural information.
4. Experience with any or all of the following is a plus: protein construct design; cloning, expression and purification of proteins; molecular modeling; and biophysical characterization (CD, ITC, SPR).
5. The successful candidate will fit well into a collaborative environment and needs to exhibit strong leadership and excellent communication skills.

Postdoctoral position in structural biology

Highlights:
1. A Post-doctoral position in structural biology is available in the Chromatin biology and Epigenetic group at the Structural Genomics Consortium, University of Toronto.
2. My lab aims to characterize proteins and Protein complexes involved in chromatin modification and gene regulation by X-ray crystallography in combination with other biochemical and biophysical techniques.

Postdoc in Radiology/ radiochemistry

Chemical functionalization of colloidal nanocrystals postdoctral position

Highlights:
1. A postdoctoral position in the area of synthesis and chemical functionalization of colloidal semiconductor nanocrystals (quantum dots) is available in the Department of Chemistry at Iowa State University.

2. Expected start date is January 2010.

3. The ideal candidate is a highly motivated and dynamic individual that works independently and has the ability to mentor graduate and undergraduate students.

4. Minimum required qualifications are:
(1) A PhD in organic, polymer, or inorganic chemistry, or a related field, with a heavy emphasis in synthesis,

(2) proven expertise in the preparation of colloidal nanoparticles, polymers, and/or small molecules (organic, organometallic, and/or inorganic), specially using inert atmosphere (Schlenk) and dry box techniques, and

(3) good working knowledge of characterization techniques such as NMR, FT-IR, UV-Vis, PL & PLE, XRD, TEM, SEM, GC-MS, GPC, DLS and/or DSC.
