Post-Doctoral position: ultrafast phenomena in correlated matter

Highlights:
1. We are looking for a postdoc working in the field of ultrafast phenomena in correlated matter.

2. The focus will be on electron, spin, orbital, and lattice dynamics in for instance low dimensional quantum magnets using a variety of femto second pump-probe experiments in the IR-UV energy range.

3.Experience in femtosecond pump-probe techniques is required, knowledge of advanced condensed matter physics will be of advantage.

4. For further information and applications please contact Prof. Paul H.M. van Loosdecht at mailto:p.h.m.van.loosdrecht@rug.nl

Correlated wave functions for crystals

A 2-year Postdoc position is available for developing, implementing and applying a new quantum chemical approach to obtain many-electron bands for extended systems with strong electron correlation effects. The method will account for many-electron effects as well as inter-site interactions in a rigorous manner. Preliminary work has already demonstrated the strength of the method. The project will be carried out with the aid of an NWO-ECHO project grant. For more information, contact Prof.dr. Ria Broer (r.broer@rug.nl)

PhD positions in Molecular Dynamics

Four-year bursary PhD positions are currently available in the Molecular Dynamics group headed by Prof. S.J. Marrink (s.j.marrink@rug.nl). In the PhD projects multi-scale computer simulation methods are used and developed to study large scale protein-protein and peptide-lipid interactions.
